Mature males turn black on lower nekc and white in saddle patch on back. The males have horns that are thick and ridged. They usually complete only a three quarter circle in purebreds. Typical horn length is 20 to 29 inches. Female horns are thin, short with a length of only about 7 inches. Males weight 90 to 120 lbs. Wheras, females weight about 77 lbs. They are grazers but will eat large amounts of browse if grass is scarce. They prefer uplands and clear slopes. They will drink twice daily when hot, otherwise irregularly.
